🚗 Deontic is revolutionizing vehicle requirements engineering with cutting-edge generative AI. Our platform enables engineers to extract requirements from documents, make them testable, and generate test scenarios to ensure compliance for (autonomous) vehicles.
🚀 We recently secured funding to grow our team and are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to help us scale our platform from a suite of APIs to a full-fledged requirements and scenario management system.

Your Role

As a Software Engineer at Deontic, you will:

• Help shape and build our AI-driven platform.
• Develop and maintain both the front-end and back-end, using modern web technologies.
• Deploy and optimize our APIs and platform in the cloud, ensuring top-tier security, performance, and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate with the team through code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, exploring new technologies and best practices to enhance our platform.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in software product development.
• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in programming (Python with FastAPI and SQLAlchemy), web technologies (React), database systems (PostgreSQL and NoSQL), containerization (Docker), and cloud deployment (Azure).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Belgium-based and able to work in Leuven 2-3 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with generative AI is a plus.
• A track record of shipping software to large customers, ideally in a startup environment.
